Competitive Skate Program

Skaters who show potential as competitive skaters can “jump” into the competitive program.  Skaters take tests specific to the discipline in which they compete.  ThisCompetitive Skate program enables skaters to advance from sub-sectionals to sectional (all of BC) to divisional (Western Canada); and ultimately to National championships and beyond.  There are six competitive levels (Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior, and Senior).

The Skate Canada competitive program can be fun and challenging for athletes seeking to hone their skills in a competitive environment.  From the Pre-Juvenile to Senior level there are several opportunities throughout the season to participate in competitive events.  Progression to higher levels of competition and increased proficiencies are the ultimate goals.  Skaters, parents, and coaches should never lose sight of what is truly important, the personal growth and development of the athlete.
All skaters in this program must be taking private lessons from a qualified coach.
